Six years ago today....

Well, today was the BIG day…Bailey and Emi’s sixth birthday (groan!) They have been counting down the days, hours, and minutes for what seems like forever. They stayed up very late last night, so we hoped for a little extra sleep this morning (yeah, right). Instead, they landed in the middle of our bed this morning proclaiming “We’re SIX!! We’re SIX!!”

After an oh-so-naughty breakfast of birthday cake **gasp** we were off to Savannah for some family fun; and to spend the birthday bucks that were burning a hole in their pockets. The plan was to see a movie, but the girls protested, and I was easy to convince. I knew what that trip would involve, and was not looking forward to it. Instead, we opted for Skukuzoo, which was free when my painfully shy children announced that it was their big day. After some playtime (during which Super Trooper almost beat up a kid for messing with his baby) the girls wanted to play a little putt-putt. Watching Mr. Golfer play mini golf with the kiddos was very cute…especially since Emi’s a lefty, making hand placement a little tough for the righty to teach. After a quick trip to the arcade, we headed to ToysRUs (which has had a complete overhaul, if you haven’t been in a while) to spend the moolah. We had supper at Logan’s, where their birthday was announced to all who could hear, which is all Bailey had been trying to accomplish all day. She even said “now everyone knows it’s our birthday!”. Overall, the day was a success…..now tomorrow’s anniversary day….date night!

  1. Okay, Mama... A word of advice..take some pictures of you too!! Hope you did, and just didn't want to post them. I made that mistake and took lots of the kids, but not many of me with them!

  2. Those pictures turned out good....isn't it funny how LONG they wait for each birthday!!! Colby has been 5 for only two months (which we counted down for about 3 months prior) and he is already asking about being 6!!!!
