First...

Well the first day was a big success! The girls weren't exactly forthcoming with details; but the general consensus was "WE LOVE FIRST GRADE!" They are in the same class this year, which I SWORE I wouldn't do...but when it came down to choosing...I needed to simplify my life for this school year!

I have said before, and I'm sure you can all relate; that all I hope is that others will see the humor and charm in my children that I see. Luckily, Calysta and Jennifer are laid back and easily amused! I had a feeling Calysta would have little Miss Bailey figured out pretty quick, and I was right. Now we'll see if she can keep up with the 700 thoughts that are all firing in her brain at once. Bailey was chattering away in the car this afternoon, and when I teased her about being silly, she reported in a tone I cannot describe, only imitate in person, that "I am not a nerd, I'm a goofball." For some reason, that brought Calysta to mind, so I asked what Mrs. DeLoach thinks she is, and she replied "a dingaling". DING DING DING!!! Congratulations Mrs. DeLoach....you nailed it in a day!! I can't stop laughing at that child...she's too much.

Emi's tales of the first day weren't nearly as colorful as Bailey's, but she was clearly impressed. She seemed genuinely thrilled with all that transpired. Considering that she refused to go to first grade a week ago, I consider that a successful day!

Here they are before leaving this morning.

There ARE shorts under there...lol
