ONLY THE WILSONS!

What a day, what a day. Just a typical Monday up until about 2:00. We released early to try and beat the bad weather, only to get orders NOT to leave school because buses would be returning, since a tornado had been spotted near the high school. I figured everything was okay, and wanted to get the girls out of the school to avoid unneccessary stress, so I called Daddy to come and pick them up and take them to dance. This was also due to the fact that Bailey was running down the hall shouting "DANGER! DANGER!" I was immediately glad I sent them on their way, since we were instructed to stay in the hallway, and some of the kids were sort of panicky. I texted Jamie to tell him I was stuck, and he called, right as Charlie was announcing that the largest cell was headed in our direction. I told him what was going on, and he said he was going to get the girls and take them to Mama, since he was still in Glennville. It took about 30 more minutes for Charlie to release us, and I went to Mama's. Tammy (cousin of the year) called and said she heard a trooper had flipped in a tornado on Ebenezer Church Rd., never dreaming it was Jamie. EEK! Luckily Jamie answered his cell pretty quick--even though I couldn't hear a thing he was saying over the roar of the wind. He was in Donald by then, in another one, but I could make out that it was him in "the incident". I did NOT miss the opportunity to make the family panicker feel bad...hehe. He called back later and wanted to know what I had heard before he said much; and then told me it did not flip him (phew!) and that the tornado had gone over him, not touching. ONLY THE WILSONS! Only Jamie would drive under a tornado...and be mad about the damage to his patrol car. It did occur to me after the fact that if he'd been hurt...it would have been completely my fault for scaring him and making him go get the girls. All's well that ends well!

  2. Tell Jaime that he has earned all the respect and admiration from my children. To them, he is Super Trooper - Tamer of Tornados! Can you please get a picture of him with hands on hips, chest out, and cape flapping in the wind? We can hang it in their room right beside Superman and Batman!
