Miracle Treat Day

Today is Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen. Unless you've been in a coma for the last week or two, you already know that. I can't think of a better reason to give the girls ice cream for supper! Okay, not FOR supper, but supper was very light tonight because we all wanted to do our part. Haha...how noble, right?

Children's Miracle Network is very dear to me. Even though the Memorial NICU isn't technically part of Backus Children's Hospital; I know what it's like for your child to have an extended hospital stay. NOT FUN! The big reason, though, is this little beauty...

October will be 3 years since Chloe's diagnosis; and November 3 years since she went to be with the Lord. Thinking about her still brings back a flood of emotions...mostly happy, some of course are not. I wanted to share these sweet pics, since they are a few of my favorites. The first one is of Chloe in her dedication dress, made from the train of Anna's wedding dress. How sweet is that? This one is of Chloe on her first Halloween. She was in the hospital. She had been through a round of chemo...and look how beautiful.

This one was also taken in the hospital. It seems surreal that the beautiful face in this picture went through so much in the next couple of short weeks.

The Children's Miracle Network raises money for children's hospitals around the country. Two of those hospitals, Backus at Memorial, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, took care of this precious angel. I feel so honored to have known and loved Chloe; and took great joy in watching my babies enjoy an ice cream in her memory.
